Ethnic communities booklet on family violence and abuse

This resource by Ministry of Social Development (MSD) describes family violence and abuse. It gives ideas about things we can all do to stop abuse in our communities.

MSD has recently established The Ethnic Communities Violence Prevention work programme, which is an initiative aimed at addressing violence within ethnic communities.

We provide training, advice and advocacy to help organisations and professionals keep children safe. If you are concerned about a child’s safety, you should contact the appropriate authorities, such as Oranga Tamariki or the Police, who are legally responsible for responding and taking action.
