There is currently no legal requirement for volunteers working with children to go through police vetting. Many who are in paid employment working with children and young people are not legally required to undergo training to recognise and respond to signs of abuse. Safeguarding Children have been advocating for this to change for quite some time. Here’s our latest attempt to highlight an issue which is leaving children vulnerable to abuse.
